We recently completed a gas hot water unit replacement for a property in Bassendean Rheem Stellar 135L storage system with a new Vulcan 135L gas water heater.
The replacement retained the same 135-litre storage capacity while providing the household with a new, reliable gas hot water system suited to their existing setup.
Removing the Existing Rheem Hot Water Unit
The first stage involved safely disconnecting the existing Rheem Stellar hot water system from the property’s water and gas services.
Once disconnected, the old unit was removed from the property and transported to an approved recycling facility for responsible disposal.
Installing the New Vulcan 135L Gas Water Heater
A new Vulcan 135L gas storage hot water system was supplied and installed in place of the previous unit.
As part of the installation, we supplied and fitted the supporting valves required for the new system. This included isolation valves, a non-return valve, a pressure limiting valve where required and a tempering valve where necessary to meet current regulations.
The existing hot water, cold water and gas pipework was adjusted to suit the connection points and requirements of the new Vulcan unit. All water and gas services were then securely reconnected.
Testing and Commissioning
Once the installation was complete, the new hot water system was filled, tested and commissioned.
All plumbing and gas connections were checked for leaks, with the operation of the unit also tested to confirm that it was heating correctly and performing as intended.
The Bassendean household now has a professionally installed 135L gas storage hot water system ready to provide reliable hot water.
