What is being assessed?

A rapid and straightforward water assessment examines two fundamental aspects:

Water pH

This measures the acidity or alkalinity of the water using a pH meter.

The pH level can vary depending on the water's source.

Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)

TDS indicates the overall water quality and the presence of various contaminants such as sodium, magnesium, calcium, potassium, bicarbonates, sulphates, and chlorides. It also detects the accumulation of heavy ions like arsenic, aluminium, copper, and lead, as well as levels of organic matter.

For a thorough understanding of water quality and contaminant levels, laboratory testing of water samples is necessary, especially for unknown water sources such as wells, creeks, or bore water.
